Solidarity’s Christmas Festival is our biggest event of the year. At the festival we eat, play games, and raffle off prizes. While that is happening the parents in our neighborhoods get to choose the gifts they believe their children would love to open Christmas morning. But before they leave, we make sure every gift is wrapped so it is ready to be placed under the Christmas tree.

Christmas Festival is all about elevating the community and the dignity of Solidarity’s families. We bring together two neighborhoods (Garnet & Maple) in Fullerton for a fun event that is designed to build relationships and promote trust and safety. We invite partners, civic leaders, and local church/business partners to build greater community in Fullerton.

Solidarity also made intentional decisions for our Christmas Store that promotes dignity or our parents. Solidarity recognizes the value that comes with parents handpicking and purchasing (at a 90% off discount) toy with their own child’s interest in mind. They are not receiving handouts to pass along to their child, but instead are shopping intentionally for their children.

Our Goals:

  1. 900 NEW unwrapped toys.

  2. $3,000 in Target gift cards.

  3. 450 children receive gifts.

  4. Every parent “buys” 2 gifts for each child.

  5. 150 families impacted.

On the day of the Christmas Festival, parents are able to “shop” at our Christmas store and purchase toys for $1 - $2. Each of these toys are wrapped on site and taken to the neighborhood homes to be opened on Christmas eve or Christmas morning.

  • Solidarity recognizes the dignity and value that comes with parents giving a present that they hand picked and purchased instead of giving their child a free handout.

With that being said, we also recognize that Solidarity’s two communities have a barrier of Food & Financial insecurity, which is why we drastically discount the price of the toys being “sold.” All gifts at Solidarity’s Christmas Store (up to $25 in value) will be sold for $1 or $2.

  • All money made from the Christmas store goes directly back to the Elementary After School Programs in each neighborhood. This is used for academic supplies, social/emotional learning exercises, educational enrichment experiences, and developing positive adult relationships.

  • There are so many ways to help this Christmas season:

    1. Check out our list of supply needs.

    2. Volunteer.
