22 Days Can Make A Big Difference

If you watch Ryan interact with other kids at program, you'll see an energetic 1st grader eager to come meet you and show you the ropes. Ryan is inclusive and kind, and the second you meet him you can see there's something unique about him.

When Ryan first came to Solidarity, though, he was having trouble both at home and at school. At home, he was rude and difficult to discipline. At school, Ryan wasn't reading at his grade level, which made engaging in class both challenging and frustrating. While at program, Ryan would sit in the corner by himself, resisting engaging with the other kids and getting homework help. It wasn't until he was encouraged to join reading program that things began shift. In fact, it was just 22 days in that Berenice noticed a difference.
